Why January plans fail, and how to make yours stick
Most new-year plans don’t fail for lack of willpower. They fail because they don’t fit real life.
Starting too big
Going from nothing to five sessions a week looks great on paper and rarely survives February. Two sessions you actually do will beat five you skip.
No starting point
Without an assessment, you don’t know what to work on or whether you’re improving. A few simple tests at the start and every few weeks turn vague effort into visible progress.
Too much friction
The commute to the gym is often what kills the habit. Train close to home, put it in your diary and have someone expecting you: that’s accountability, and it works better than motivation.
